Great experience
Our U14 Bison Boys played in the latest EHA U14 tournament in Telford. These tournaments were organised to give new players an experience of playing competition handball in a friendly environment. The day was organised and hosted by Shropshire Handball, who gave all participants an excellent experience!
Our lads, with some having only trained for a few weeks and with 6 players playing their first games, started off against Shropshire 1 boys. Having a small lead until right at the end, the boys lost out 4-3 to Shropshire, but gained confidence from playing one of the better teams. Up next was Trafford, who had previously beaten Shropshire, and our boys came out of their shell. Defending strongly and attacking with a new confidence, they took the lead and this time, kept it until the end, running out winners 12-5. A mention must be made about one of the goals the lads scored, which was one of the best goals produced by a Bison youth team: amazing! Following this, we had our final game against Shropshire 2, and again came out winners with a final score of 11-3. Again the Bison lads put in a strong defensive performance and our goalkeeper, playing his first game in that position, pulled off some fantasitc saves. There was some tired play at the end, but all the boys should be congratulated on playing so well, and with such good spirit. Thanks to Shropshire for organising and hosting us all: it was a great event!
We are entering our U14 team into the EHA National League, and are still looking for new players. If you think you would like to join this great group of lads and represent the Bisons, contact us through our contact page!
